Hungary continues to support the development of Transcarpathia (Zakarpattia Oblast) with a total amount of 200 million HUF (app. 500 000 USD), which mainly consists of a 155-million-forint framework of investments realised by the Hungarian Cultural Assosiation in Transcarpathia together with the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute. The rest of the financial framework will be allocated by the Hungarian Delegations in Ukraine and would support the Transcarpathian historic churches.

The agreement signed on 12 June 2015 is the third one among the Eastern Partnership agreements between the Government of Hungary  and the Transcarpathian  institutions. The document was signed by Mr Ádám Zoltán Kovács, deputy state secretary for international cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Mr László Brenzovics, president of the Hungarian Cultural Assosiation in Transcarpathia and Mrs Ildikó Orosz, president of the Ferenc Rákóczi II Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute.

Up to now, more than 100 public institutions have been renewed in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program, including hospitals, schools and other institutions having essential importance for the local community.

The energy efficient reconstruction of these institutions made it possible to significantly reduce their overhead expenses, too. The recent agreement aims for the renovation of several local institutions, including the Department in Berehove of the State Archives of the Transcarpathian Region and the library of the National University of Uzhhorod.
