On April 16, 2015 H.E. Ambassador Ernő Keskeny – at his own initiative and accompanied by Defence Attaché Colonel István Tóth – paid a visit to the Central Military Hospital in Kiev where some of the soldiers who received their injuries in the zone of ATO are being treated.

The Ambassador and the Defence Attaché were received by the Commander of the hospital Anatoliy Kazmirchuk and Deputy Minister of Defence Pyotr Mehed. The Hungarian side informed their partners that Hungary – in the framework of a humanitarian project - is ready to receive soldiers who had been injured in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine for treatment.

In order to prepare the project, on April 28 a delegation will arrive in Kiev at the head of which will be General Lajos Zsíros, the Chief Surgeon of the Hungarian Army. The Hungarian and Ukrainian sides have managed to reach an agreement that the Hungarian delegation will select the soldiers to be treated in Hungary together with the doctors in the Central Military Hospital. These patients will be transfered to Hungary on a military plane at the beginning or the middle of May.
